I tried kayaking for the first time on Lake Khuvsgul, Mongolia. It was so peaceful on the water. The lake is too cold and isolated for sports like water skiing or jetskis.
This animal carried our kayaks for us, but it was raining too much to use them that day. Students who are being trained as future Mongolian tour guides.

The reindeer were very tame, and seemed to be used to the attention. The horses had to wait while we checked out the reindeer.

Finally we reached the destination, Lake Khuvsgul Park. These are the guards who collected the entry fee to the park. These are the "hotel rooms." The gers each have a stove inside and are comfortably warm at night.

Driving on the way, we saw a nomadic family raising goats. Their ger:
Deer stones in Mongolia. The only stone here that has a face.
We took Aero Mongolia to Muron Airport in Northern Mongolia. These "Deer stones" were made as early as 3000 BCE!
