Very fresh seafood sold in Halong Bay. You can just pick what you want and the chef on the boat will cook it.

On the road to Halong Bay.

A farm on wheels. I saw at least chickens, ducks, and pigs.

The water puppet show had two levels of seating. Even the most expensive seats were only a few dollars. The puppets were controlled by people hidden behind the screens, and they moved upon the surface of the water. I wish I could understand what was said, since it was all in Vietnamese.

On the road I saw many houses with only the front of the building painted, as if no one would notice the sides were left unfinished.

The bridge leads to Ngoc Son Temple.

I'm not sure why the woman is burning papers below. My guess would be that it's to send presents to ancestors.

Click on this photo for a video of Hanoi traffic. Most streets don't have traffic signals. No one likes to stop, so they just drive more slowly. As a pedestrian, you just walk out into the street and let the motorcycles drive around you. At first it was intimidating, but I got used to crossing this street many times. This video is taken from a cafe above the street, while I waited before going to a water puppet show.

After the parade the streets were packed with people.

It's not every day you see women with orange hair walking inside giant exercise balls.
