On the last night in Budapest, I went on a pub crawl with people from all around the world. The wildest partiers were from Sweden (the three girls on the left).
Views of the park in Budapest. One reason I went to Hungary was to eat the desserts. This is the view from my hotel room.
This medal was given to Hungarians who could "proudly" display that they were "excellent workers." A post office in Budapest. The opera house in Budapest.

Typical Hungarian cars in communist times.
I think this is Marx and Engels.
It looks like the steelworkers made this in their spare time. A view of the whole park. Maybe they were bundling up for the cold winter?
Statue Park, Hungary. Some communist statues are ugly! Hungarians joked that this statue represents a guy in a train station chasing after a passenger: "You forgot your jacket!"
Many communist era statues at "Statue park." This is all that remains of a Stalin statue. They were all torn down. Lenin's statues fared better.
Two more photos of sunset on the Danube in Budapest, Hungary.
