These are photos from the Chingay Parade
It's the closest thing Singapore has to a local parade, unlike New York City which seems to have several every weekend. There is a push to make the parade "world class" by bringing in more international acts, but I think the local flavor is more endearing since it makes the parade unlike any other. It was very difficult to get good photos. Below is the best I could do. The parade always relies upon extremely bright colors!
This is probably the only local event they can get the chance to wear these costumes.
